Video file types are pretty important to pay attention to, but the two main ones you'll encounter are MOV and MP4s. Here's a quick breakdown of them.

MOVs are huge because they keep high-quality video, audio, and effects that a good camera will record in MOV, and it's what you want to use realistically when you shoot.
