there are many types of files for images the main two that i deal with are

jpg jpegs are good for quick reveiw and are quite small good for use online as its widely compatible but every time its edited at all it compresses and quality decrreases

raw raw files save the cameras settigns and alot of extra information as a result they take more storage and arent as compatible for use on websites and social media but are probably your bets choice as they dontn undergo compression like jpegs
