first put the shotgun mic int the handle then put the wind screen or dead cat on next screw that onto the pole and plug the cable into the mic and wrap that around the pole so theres no loose cord that could be a hazard plug the other end into you audio recorder turn it on and make sure to put it onto the correct chanel put on the headphones and use the dial to ensure the volume levels are correct
